Glinda Knights

The Glinda Knights (グリンダ騎士団 Gurinda Kishi-dan) is a counter-terrorism, search-and-destroy armor special unit within the Britannian Military.

History[]

The Glinda Knights were formed in the aftermath of the Black Rebellion in Area 11. Despite a costly, but decisive victory for Britannia, the seeds of rebellion left by the terrorists: the Black Knights, have started a chain reaction, causing multiple rebellions and terrorist activities across Britannia and its colonies to spread. With most of the Britannian military focusing on the war with the Europia United, a specialized military unit was needed to counter these terrorists and rebellions. The Glinda Knights were formed by the 88th Imperial Princess Marrybell mel Britannia and have been given the mission of suppressing terrorism throughout the controlled territories of the Holy Britannian Empire. All its Knightmare pilots are ace pilots that utilize experimental frames that have been upgraded from regular frames.

Eventually, the unit expanded further, becoming officially a military squadron, becoming the Great Glinda Knights. The unit expanded to have multiple divisions, such as the Airborne Knight Division led by Leonhardt, and the Heavy Artillery Unit led by Tink, and Marrybell's personal elite unit, the Riddel Knights, a group of 88 that use Vincents. After the battle with the Star of Madrid, Knight of Nine Nonette Enneagram also joins with them in order to keep tabs on Marrybell at the request of Kanon.

When the Black Knights returned to full power, the Glinda Knights become active military unit in the Britannian military as United Federation of Nations was formed, giving up all independent military forces to the Black Knights. With the expansion of the Black Knights into the UFN, the terrorists have become a military force that rivals that of Britannia, and a second conflict ensues between two sides. The Glinda Knights become active, providing support to destroy the Gefjun Disturbers that are jamming power supplies during the Second Assault on Tokyo Settlement until Suzaku Kururugi fires a F.L.E.I.J.A., killing millions and a ceasefire was issued with Britannia conceding Japan back to the UFN.

When Emperor Lelouch's begins his reign, Marrybell serves under him with the bulk of its forces under his command. However, Oldrin, Leanhardt, Sokkia, Tink, and those on Grandberry leave the military due to the dismantling of Britannia from Lelouch and joined the UFN. A second conflict ensues with Schneizel destroying the Britannia capital; Pendragon.

With the bulk of the Britannian and UFN forces stationed at their respective countries engaged in a second global conflict, Marrybell and her Glinda Knights had to get to Mt. Fuji until when Lelouch's forces emerged victorious. The former members, particularly Nonette who learned of Schneizel's true ambitions, rescued Cornelia after she has been wounded by Schneizel. After the Battle of Mt. Fuji, Marrybell and the Glinda Knights would use the Damocles on any countries who dare to oppose them giving them a much feared reputation than they did back in Spain and later the defected members launch an attack on Damocles in alongside Peace Mark and other resistance forces, in conjunction with Cornelia and the Black Knights remnants plan to attack Lelouch during his planned public execution of those he captured during the Battle of Mt. Fuji.

After the death of Lelouch, the Glinda Knights was reformed and remain in service with Oldrin as their new leader, and Nonette, the former Knight of Nine, and her uncle Oiaguro as new members along with her friends, as well as several younger members in training under the United Federation of Nations.

Kowa era[]

With the fracturing of the Holy Britannian Empire, several countries spawned from the fracture with the Principality of Britannia and the Britannian Republic forming from the remains of the former superpower. In addition, with nations from Britannia and its colonies joining the UFN, they disbanded their entire military to the Black Knights.

As a new era of peace is coming, Zero, who was concerned about the Black Knights consolidating too much power, wishes for separate organizations such as the Glinda Knights to act as a check-and-balance against the influence of the Black Knights.
