At some point, she met Suzaku Kururugi and the two grew close, with Euphemia making him her personal knight despite him being an honorary Britannian (though that was only possible due to Schneizel's interference).

Character History[]

Euphemia first appears in during Dartlon and Suzaku's battle, demanding them to cease the duel.

A disguised Euphemia then appears when Suzaku leaves Ashford after his talk with Nunnally. She notes that she didn't know that Suzaku knew Nunnally and Lelouch and he explains that they stayed with him before the war. He then questions if she is okay with not meeting Nunnally and Euphemia states that if she did so, Nunnally would probably believe that it was part of the politics that her siblings had been trying to avoid. She promises not to tell anyone in the army about Nunnally and explains that she’ll meet with her once their plans come to fruition, but admits that she’d be using Nunnally for the same reason that the two went into hiding. Suzaku reassures her that her plan is for everyone to be treated equally and she thanks him.

When Cornelia announces her plan to attack the ghetto, Euphemia the explains to Suzaku that Cornelia is setting up bat to get revenge for Clovis’s death. As the Mark Nemo enters the battle, Euphemia believes that they should support their troops, but Suzaku states that he doesn't think it's necessary to leave their post yet. After Zero appears and defeats Cornelia, Euphemia deploys Suzaku and the Lancelot to protect her.

After the battle, when discussing Kyoto, Euphemia wonders if Suzaku would be suited for first contact with them, but he explains that the Kururgi clan is no longer a member of the Six Houses of Kyoto. He then insists that she leave dealing the NAC with him an the intelligence division and explains that Darlton hasn't been pleased with the progress so far. Euphemia then recalls that Darlton is on of Cornelia's knights and urges Suzaku to get along with him. Before Suzaku leaves Euphemia asks him to tell her another story about Lelouch and Nunnally. Suzaku then recounts the time time he had spent with Lelouch and Nunnally before the war.

During the battle at Narita, Euphemia is somewhat distraught that Kyoto would intentionally leak information about the JLF to Cornelia, but Suzaku notes that it probably wasn't unanimous and the person responsible was most likely Taizō Kirihara. He then reminds her that those are the kind of people she is negotiating with. After a landslide wipes out a chunk of their forces, Suzaku immediately realizes that Zero has made his appearance and requests to be deployed. Euphemia gives him the go ahead the go ahead and he is then deployed in the Lancelot to protect Cornelia.

After the battle, Euphemia approaches Suzaku and asks how he's doing. Suzaku says he's fine and changes the topic of conversation to Zero and the Mark Nemo pilot. Euphemia explains that while Zero escaped, the pilot of the Mark Nemo was captured, but even Cornelia isn't allowed to see them. This shocks Suzaku, but Euphemia states that it must mean someone with authority above her and Cornelia came to Area 11 and suspects that it must be the heretical trial division of the Eden Vital Order. Euphemia then reveals that she managed to obtain a file on the trial division and asks that Suzaku not be too shocked before showing it to him.

Shortly after, Euphemia, in an attempt to push Cornelia to stop the execution informs Cornelia that Nunnally is the pilot of Mark Nemo. When Cornelia asks where she got the information, Euphemia states that her source is secret, but reliable (the implicaiton being that Lelouch or Suzaku told her). Cornelia warns her that the matter is outside her authority and she should not delve further, but Euphemia admonishes her, reminding her that they are talking about their younger sister and decides to take actions on the matter without Cornelia’s help.

The Meeting (NoN)

The meeting

In a meeting with Cornelia and Euphemia, Rolo and Euphemia argue whether or not she had the authority to interfere with Nunnally's execution. Rolo explains that they have no information on the explosive that destroyed the building, but holds Euphemia and Suzaku responsible, something Corenlia believes will be decided by the Senate. When Emperor Charles zi Britannia abolishes the Holy Empire of Britannia for the Holy Nation of Eden Vital, Euphemia is arrested by Rolo along with Cornelia (and all other governor-generals). While in prison, Euphemia, along with Cornelia, Lloyd and Cecile are all broken out by Kallen & Kaguya, who have agreed to negotiate with Euphemia.

Euphemia questions if she needs to be come the new ruler, and while Cornelia is hesitant, Kirihara reveals that the decision has already been approved by Schneizel and all senate members. Euphemia is still hesitant, but Kaguya applauds her attempts to negotiate as well as her ideals.

Euphemia (NoN) give a speech

Euphemia's speech.

At Euphemia’s coronation, she gives a speech about how she wont return Britannia to their previous tyrannical rule. Zero gives a similar speech to the black knights simultaneously. They both speak about how its wrong for the strong to oppress the weak, and Euphemia abolishes the name of Pax Britannia.

Following Charles’s defeat, Euphemia releases all areas, but it is a gradual process. During the time, public order was maintained by the Britannia army as well as temporary armies established by the former territories. As the temporary armies were composed of former rebels, there were inevitable conflicts, and since Charles was no longer a common enemy, hostility was directed to Britannia.

Following the release of Japan, Euphemia asks if Suzaku really willing to leave Japan. Suzaku confirms that as Euphemia’s knight, it is his duty to stay by her side. Lelouch then suddenly appears and despite Suzaku's frustration at his disappearance and reappearance, Euphemia asks if he as the leader of the black knights, would help them rebuild the world. Lelouch explain that Zero died on Kamine Island, and he is now the demon king of Eden Vital and simply came to say his goodbyes.
